A heat press is a machine with an electronically heated silicone surface, called a platen. It works like an iron you would use to iron clothing. The difference is the combination of pressure, plate and temperature control. This ensures even heating of the textiles that you are making. The platen is lowered down onto the surface and locked down for a couple seconds. The exact time depends on the materials being used. Heat presses also feature a timer that controls exactly how long and at what temperature the item will be pressed at. You can use this heat press with our vinyl cutters to make tshirts mugs hats and cups.<\/p>\n

Vinyl cutters have been growing more and more popular for the fablabs and makerspaces. It\u2019s amazing what these machines allow their users to create! We have 2 machines this one is the 60\u00a0 cm Secabo vinyl cutter. \u00a0It is a great creative outlet and allows you to make mugs, vinyl signs and even t-shirts. All of our decals for the car and publicity were made with this cutter. It is a real workhorse in our labs. \u00a0We found a number of uses for vinyl that we are sure you will enjoy<\/p>\n
