Objective: The objective of this camp is to introduce the world of 3D printing to absolute beginners in a fun and roundabout way. Projects can be taken at home after the class. Skills will include using a handheld 3D printer, using 3D software, and using a 3D printer.
Duration: 1 day. 9-12 and 13:20-4:30

What you can expect during this course
This specially designed introductory course for beginners begins with a guided tour of our workshop with a detailed explanation of the products and projects that can be manufactured with 3D, laser, and CNC printer machines. After a short safety course, the classic 3D printing process is explained as participants use a handheld printer to create plastic objects.
During the time, participants use real-life 3D printing machines and tools to learn how they work and what they can do. This course is ideal for hobbyists and children and can be easily followed, even if the participant has no experience with 3D printing. The possibilities and the practical examples are as follows: spinner, chessboard, neckless pendant, sunglasses, art objects, feathers, etc.

This is a great introductory course into the 3D World because it gives you enough information to see how a real 3D printer works and to try out the technology for yourself. This is great for kids as well as young adults or just people that are curious about the 3D printing world.

About the 3d Printer technology used in this course
3D printers have opened a new era of innovation in which the everyday person can have access to cutting-edge technologies to prototype objects. It’s become more accessible throughout the years because of its efficiency and affordability. Many years ago, a machine that 3D printed would cost way too much for a common shop and way too much to put in the house as a common tool. This type of manufacturing procedure has changed the way we make and build almost everything.
This technology is used in medical applications, manufacturing applications, construction and for end user consumer goods. In medical conditions a 3D printer can even print body tissue to repair damage from an accident. It’s because of these applications that bring down the cost of these 3D printers so we can use them in our houses for everyday use. It opens the possibility to change our future.
With the use of 3D printers’ ideas that would normally be lost can be easily manufactured in our house or in a small workshop. These machines have been adding it to our day-to-day ritual and add it to our day-to-day tools to advance technology and productivity. This is why it’s important to introduce the idea of 3D printers to young students and people just starting out in technology period to give them an idea of what exists on the market and what they can do with it is our goal with our workshop on 3D printers and handheld 3D printer equipment.

They would be advised that you bring something to write on so you can take notes. It would also be a good idea to wear old clothes as we will be working in a dusty environment with 3D printer machines that could cause stains on clothing. We have all the safety and security equipment here including gloves and glasses for your security. Steel toed boots are not necessary.
