What you can expect during this course
The aim of this course is to weld steels, stainless steels, using the TIG process. The course is practice-based and allows for individualized follow-up (coaching) based on the participants’ welding activities. This course is intended for beginners or people wishing to improve their skills, working in various fields such as bodywork, locksmithing, metal construction, agricultural mechanics, civil engineering mechanics, mechanical welding. After this training, you will be able to make full use of our welding machine for your assembly and construction projects.
Goals: The goal is to understand the TIG welding processes for metals. The practical step is to set up the high-quality welding machine provided. Throughout the training, safety standards will be applied. This course will make the student self-sufficient to get into our welding lab.

About the equipment used in this course
Of the three common welding processes, TIG welding is the most complex and challenging to master. TIG welding refers to Tungsten Inert Gas welding. And as its name suggests, this method uses a tungsten electrode. Tungsten is a unique metal that requires a lot of heat to melt. In fact, it has the highest melting point among all metals in pure form. Therefore, the tungsten electrode used in TIG welding does not melt to provide filler material. Instead, a separate filler rod must be used to provide filler material for the welding pool. Unlike stick welding, the electrode only works in TIG is to pass an electric current. The wire does not have any flux coating. As such, a separate gas bottle is required to provide shielding gas. In most cases, a mixture of helium and argon is used.

Our advice
Working with metals like steel and iron can get dirty during the grinding process therefore we recommend that you wear old clothes and use the equipment on site. We have all the welding helmets and glasses that you need as well as gloves and protection for other people around you when you use the welding equipment. It’s also a good idea to let us know if you have any requirements before the course by contacting us on our contact form or by e-mail directly.
